Liberal as I am, I retain a strong dose of pragmatism. Read Ernie Dumas’ assessment of the legislation and then, lefties, tell me we are better off with nothing. I hate the goodness that has rained down on the special pleaders, the fatcat lobbies, the pro-lifers, the Liebermans and Nelsons, etc. But more coverage for more people for, in many cases, somewhat less? That sounds better than nothing. Not the single-payer I want. But not nothing.
