Kings of karaoke

It sounds like The Buzz had some fun Saturday night with their Christmas karaoke before a packed house at Wildwood Park. They're planning to sell a disc of the night's entertainment for Youth Home and I'm still hoping for a few clips to share. Meanwhile, you'll just have to make do with a static photo of Gov. Mike Beebe, joined by State Trooper Dale Blaylock (a former cruise ship entertainer) doing "Little Rock by Morning," a rewrite of the country standard "Amarillo by Morning."

A team of KATV anchorettes (augmented in a delayed appearance by Steve Sullivan in a leotard) took the top prize, doing Beyonce's "Single Ladies." Jason Pederson of KATV finished second. He recast "Beat It" as "Tweet it," after the hot social networking service Twitter, with a lyrics assist from former TV guy and Beebe press man Matt DeCample. Lots more karaoke shots here.
