Complaint over McCain calls

A government watchdog group has filed a Senate ethics complaint against Sen. John McCain for his robo-calls in five states, including calls in Arkansas aimed at Sen. Blanche Lincoln, in opposition to health legislation. The complaint alleges that McCain's use of outside money from the National Republican Senatorial Committee to do grassroots lobbying in support of his own official duties -- a motion to scuttle the health care bill -- violated rules.

The complainant, Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, is the same group that targeted U.S. Rep. Mike Ross with questions about his profits on sale of his Prescott pharmacy.
