James Jefferson rounds up some figures on the bonanza in issue-based TV advertising being experienced by broadcasters as interest groups target Congress on health care, clean air legislation, card check, etc.

KARK, for example, has pulled in $1 million this year, a non-election year, which more than double its political revenue during 2008, a presidential election year. It's a pretty good measure of the loot many of these advertisers (e.g., pharmacy industry and its old coot ads) make off our current lobby-favoring system.
