A weekend roundup of crimes from the LRPD's Terry Hastings:

1) a man armed with a dumbbell failed in an attempted Sonic robbery Sunday morning.

2) a mass armed robbery Sunday night of a Razorback Pizza on Stagecoach Road left 16 victims, but no injuries;

3) a man was shot in the leg downtown.

1.              2009-133579 – AGGRAVATED ROBBERY
SUSPECT – UNKNOWN B/M, 20-30 YOA

On 11-22-2009, Sonic employees opened the store for the day and an unknown black male forced his way in and held what he implied was a gun to an employee’s head and demanded the money.  An employee noticed that the suspect was holding a small dumbbell and not a gun, the employee pushed the other employee out of the way and began hitting the suspect.  The suspect was able to flee after a struggle.  No arrests at this time.
 
 
2.              2009-133798- 16 COUNTS OF AGGRAVATED ROBBERY,
                                    16 COUNTS THEFT OF PROPERTY

VICTIM – RAZORBACK PIZZA, 10900 STAGECOACH
INCIDENT DATE/TIME – 11-22-2009, 21489 HOURS

On 11-22-2009, officers responded to a robbery in progress with shots fired at 10900 Stagecoach (Razorback Pizza).  Upon officers arrival they found that several black male suspects with guns robbed the business, employees and customers.  Detectives interviewed the victims and witnesses who were involved in the incident and they advised that there were two to four suspects involved in this incident.  They gave a description of the suspects as being between 18-23 years of age; the lead suspect was wearing blue jeans and a dark colored top with a white shirt covering his face.  This suspect had what appeared to be a black semi-automatic pistol.  He was approximately 6’0, 180 lbs., in his mid- 20’s with short hair.  The second suspect was wearing dark clothes and was approximately 5’8- 59, 180 lbs.  The suspects fired several shots inside the business.   They took an undetermined amount of money from the business, employees, and customers. They left through the back door of the business on foot towards the apartment complex.  No one was injured during this incident. No video of the incident and no arrests at this time.
 
3.              2009- 133538- BATTERY 1ST
SUSPECT – UNKNOWN
VICTIM – ERIC HOWARD, B/M, 4-30- 1979

INCIDENT LOCATION – 2800 BLOCK OF WEST 13TH STREET
ARREST DATE/TIME – N/A
ARREST LOCATION – N/A
 
On 11-22-2009, at approximately 0211 hours, officers responded to a shooting at the 2800 block of West 13th Street.  Upon officers arrival they located Eric Howard who was suffering from a gunshot wound to his right upper leg.  Mr. Howard was transported to UAMS by MEMS.  Howard was standing on the sidewalk talking to two to three unknown male subjects when one of the subjects shot him. Howard described the suspect as a black male wearing a baby blue zip up suit and a red hat turned to the left.  This investigation is on going. No arrests.
