Dr. Dan Rahn is now the chancellor of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. Former Chancellor I. Dodd Wilson's retirement was official Oct. 31.
Rahn comes to UAMS from the Medical College of Georgia, where he was senior vice chancellor for health and medical programs.
We reported in March that Dr. Rahn's base pay would be $600,000, with another $100,000 tacked on as annual deferred compensation. He'll also get a $25,000 housing allowance yearly.
We reported in September that UAMS had budget concerns (like every public institution) and had decided to suspend an anticipated pay raise for non-academic personnel and instructed departments not to fill open positions unless they could justify the hiring.
Employees at UAMS may be looking over their shoulders now that the new man is on campus.
