2009- 123136 – AGGRAVATED ROBBERY OF BUSINESS/INDIVIDUAL
SUSPECT – B/M
VICTIM – DOUBLEBEES EXXON, 1324 BARROW ROAD
VICTIM – BURTON WALKER, B/M, 10-6-1990
INCIDENT DATE/TIME – 10-27-09 AT 0300 HOURS
INCIDENT LOCATION – 1324 BARROW
Officers responded to an aggravated robbery at Doublebee’s Exxon and made contact with the clerk who advised that a black male, approximately 20-25 years of age, 5’9”, 150 ponds, thin build, crooked teeth, wearing a gray hoodie and black pants, entered the business. The suspect then stuck a black automatic handgun through the service window and said “give me the cigarettes and money”. The suspect fled the business with approximately twenty packs of Newport cigarettes and an unknown amount of cash. He advised that the suspect fled westbound on Kanis on foot. No arrests at this time.
2. 2009- 122856 – ROBBERY, CRIMINAL MISCHIEF
SUSPECT – ANTHONY WRIGHT, B/M, 5-21-1971, 1708 FLETCHER, PINE BLUFF
VICTIM – CUPIDS, 9700 N. RODNEY PARHAM
INCIDENT DATE/TIME – 10-26-09 AT 1124 HOURS
INCIDENT LOCATION – 9700 N. RODNEY PARHAM
ARREST DATE/TIME – 10-26-09 AT 1130 HOURS
Officers responded to a shoplifting turned robbery at Cupids and while enroute to the scene, they were advised that the suspect took items from the store, broke the glass out of the front door of the business and was last observed running on Southedge. Communications made a broadcast of the suspect’s physical description and clothing. A short time later, officers located Anthony Wright hiding in some bushes in the 1100 block of Southedge. A K-9 Unit helped take Wright into custody. Officers’ located lingerie that had been stolen from Cupid’s on the ground by Wright. He was transported to UAMS for treatment of a dog bite. Detectives made contact with an employee of Cupid’s who advised that he observed Wright conceal merchandise under his clothing. The employee locked the door and confronted Wright, at which time Wright pulled out one item from his shirt and threw it at him. He advised that Wright threatened him and told him he better unlock the door or he would have to do something and kick the door open. Wright tried to kick the glass out of the front door, and when he was not successful, he picked up a metal clothing rack and threw it through the front door, breaking all the glass and causing damage to the door frame. Wright was charged with Robbery and Felony Criminal Mischief and then transported to the Pulaski County Regional Jail.
