A statewide promotional tour worthy of P.T. Barnum -- giant bouncing balls will substitute for elephants and tigers -- will precede the ceremonial opening of Powerball multistate lottery ticket sales in Arkansas at 10:15 p.m. Saturday. There will even be a party with cake and an eight-story Powerball drop in the River Market neighborhood.
The promo begins tonight with illumination of the Bank of America building in a red light display promoting Powerball.
Somebody by me one will ya? I'm going to be in Naples.

ARKANSAS LOTTERY NEWS RELEASE
Arkansas Powerball® tickets go on sale at 10:15 p.m. on Saturday, October 31. To promote America’s favorite jackpot game, huge red Powerballs® will be bouncing across the state starting Thursday, Oct. 29. The balls, ranging from eight feet to fourteen feet in diameter, will make their way through several Arkansas cities as part of a promotion to herald the Powerball® startup.
A radio promotion inviting residents who see the big red Powerballs® to call in for a chance to win a prize will take place in Jonesboro, Rogers, Pine Bluff and Fayetteville on Oct. 29 and in Hot Springs, Fort Smith and Little Rock on Oct. 30.
The traveling Powerballs® will reach their final destination in Little Rock on Oct. 31, drawing attention to a Powerball® kickoff party starting at 9 p.m. that night in the River Market Pavilion, 400 President Clinton Ave. All Arkansans are invited to join the fun with refreshments (including a giant Powerball® cake), sales of Arkansas Scholarship Lottery instant-win tickets, a spinning prize wheel, and a countdown — with an eight-story ball drop, like New Year's Eve in New York City's Times Square.
The festivities begin Tuesday night when a Powerball® Light Show will illuminate three sides of downtown Little Rock's Bank of America Plaza. The bright red display, continuing through November 3, will reach as high as the 22nd floor of the building, located at 200 W. Capitol Avenue.
Powerball® is a multi-state jackpot game. Each ticket costs $1, or a player can add the PowerPlay® option for an additional dollar to multiply non-jackpot winnings up to 5 times. A player selects five white ball numbers from 1 to 59 plus one red Powerball® number from 1 to 39. At 9:59 p.m. CST every Wednesday and Saturday, five white balls and one red Powerball® are drawn. There are nine ways to win. The top prize is the jackpot, which starts at $20 million, awarded when a player's numbers match all of those that are drawn.
