Justice Dept. responds to Ross complaint

Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, the watchdog group that raised questions about aspects of U.S. Rep. Mike Ross' sale of the family's drug store, has received a response from the Justice Department. Sounds like a pro forma brushoff to me, but that's reading between the lines.

Washington, D.C. – Department of Justice (DOJ) Public Integrity Section Chief William Welch sent a letter to CREW yesterday indicating the DOJ is reviewing CREW’s complaint against Rep. Mike Ross (D-AR).  On September 23, 2009, CREW wrote the DOJ asking for an investigation into whether Rep. Ross engaged in bribery and honest services fraud by selling a piece of commercial property for more than its worth to a pharmacy chain with an interest in pending legislation.
