Free wireless for bus riders

Central Arkansas Transit now provides free wireless service at the Travel Center downtown, the major change point for bus routes. You can surf the web free while waiting for the bus. There's free wireless, too, at trolley stops.

Central Arkansas Transit (CAT) in partnership with Urban Wireless (formerly Argenta Wireless) has installed free wireless internet for the patrons of the CAT River Cities Travel Center at 310 East Capital Street in downtown Little Rock. Bus riders will now be able to check their e-mail and use the internet from their handheld, laptop or other wireless devices inside and outside at the Travel Center while waiting for their bus. The Travel Center is the major transfer hub for 20 CAT bus routes and the departure point for four express routes. CAT in partnership with Urban Wireless also provides free wireless internet at the trolley stops in North Little Rock and in the near future will provide free wireless internet at the River Rail trolley stops in Little Rock.


Urban Wireless is a joint venture of Kharma Consulting and Argenta Holdings, LLC, both based in Argenta. Urban Wireless has installed and operates the largest free wireless internet network in a neighborhood in Arkansas outside of a university campus. Urban
Wireless, now provide free wireless internet over all or parts of 70 blocks of the residential and business areas of Argenta in downtown North Little Rock, the River Cities Travel Center and the Rivermarket Amphitheater in Little Rock. Argenta Wireless also provides wireless solutions for organizations and events in Central Arkansas.
