There’ll be a lot written today about campaign finances since today is a quarterly deadline for financial reports. No word yet on what the Lord has filed on further support for Jim Holt’s candidacy for U.S. Senate. But, He’s reportedly told many that Holt should run. Amen to that.

The Washington Post, primed by the national Republican campaign operation, highlights the $130,000 Tim Griffin has raised for the Republican primary for 2nd District Congress. The Post hasn’t heard Griffin might have a tough primary fight before he gets to U.S. Rep. Vic Snyder. In a “good, bad and ugly” report, The Fix puts in the “ugly” category:

Vic Snyder: The Arkansas Democratic congressman collected a total of $0 in the past three months. Now, Snyder never raises money in an off year and has consistently won reelection despite that stance. But, he has also never faced someone like former U.S. attorney Tim Griffin (R) before. Griffin is very well connected in Washington and raised $130,000 in just 10 days of active cash collecting.

Two words, with relevance to both men and this race: Bud Cummins. Somebody else can explain it to The Fix.

More campaign fodder as it strikes our fancy.
