In a mannerly way, U.S. Rep. Vic Snyder ambushed one of former Murphy Oil CEO Claiborne Deming's dog-and-pony shows about the supposed unalloyed evils of cap-and-trade clean air legislation, which Snyder supported.
Blake Rutherford also took note. From Blake:
According to Warren Watkins of The Daily Citizen,
“I don’t think this bill is about climate change,” Deming told the audience of over 200 including many of the area’s bankers. “It’s about a Draconian lifestyle change which is being imposed on America by interests on the East and West Coasts.”
Mr. Snyder rose from the audience to counter many of the points made by Mr. Demming, and noted that two of America’s largest nuclear energy producers, Exelon and Entergy, both support Cap and Trade legislation.
