Little Rock announces details of amnesty days for parking tickets. That means reduced fines for people who come in and settle up.

CITY NEWS RELEASE

WHAT:           The City of Little Rock Environmental Court, located at 600 W. Markham will conduct an Amnesty Program on the following dates:

·      Friday, October 9, 2009 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

·      Saturday, October 10, 2009 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

·      Friday, October 16, 2009 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

·      Saturday, October 17, 2009 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.  Cancelled – See special note below.*

The Amnesty Program will be limited to the days/dates/times listed and only be offered during this period.  When you appear you must have the vehicle license plate information available for the Court.  Anyone that fails to participate in the Amnesty Program, will lose the opportunity to have their fines reduced.  The Amnesty Program will be the only time those who owe in excess of $250 and are therefore eligible to have their vehicle immobilized can have their fines reduced. If not paid during this time, they are eligible to have their vehicle immobilized immediately.

The purpose of the Amnesty Program is to allow people that have not paid their parking tickets to pay the original amount due on each citation and suspend any increase in the fines incurred since the citation was issued. $50 citations (meter and time zone violations) will be reduced to the original $15 and $45 citations (all other violations) will be reduced to the original $30.

Anyone may call Parking Enforcement (501-371-4528) with their license plate information to inquire if they have any outstanding parking citations.

* Due to the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure event being held in downtown Little Rock on Saturday, October 17, 2009, the Environmental Court has cancelled court appearances on that date. We apologize for the inconvenience.
