Beebe picks new Education boss



Gov. Beebe has made his recommendation (it will be followed by the Board of Education) for a new leader of the state Education Department. From the state administrators' ranks.

Governor Mike Beebe has recommended Tom Kimbrell of Cabot to be the next Commissioner of Education for the State of Arkansas.

The Arkansas Board of Education is expected to consider Kimbrell's hiring at their meeting Monday morning.  If the Board votes to hire Kimbrell, the governor will confirm the selection at 10:00 a.m. on Monday in the Governor's Conference Room.

Kimbrell is currently the executive director of the Arkansas Association of Educational Administrators.  He has been an educator for 25 years, and been superintendent of both the Paragould and North Little Rock school districts
