Channel 4 roster changes

Channel 4 has announced a slew of personnel changes on its daily newscasts. The full account on the jump. NB: Dewayne Graham is heading back to the airways as head of a new "investigative unit." I guess he's not running for anything next year.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — September 10, 2009 —With NBC launching it’s new fall lineup starting with the prime time debut of The Jay Leno Show on September 14th, KARK 4 News is making major changes in the station’s news department that will coincide with the launch.
KARK 4 Today, the morning newscast, will have a new face on the anchor desk. Mallory Hardin, former KARK 4 reporter, will co-anchor the two-hour newscast with Matt Mosler, Chief Meteorologist Mike Francis and Tracy Douglass.
“Mallory has such genuine personality, she’s upbeat, fun, and just a wonderful person to be around, which makes her a perfect fit for our morning newscast,” said News Director Rob Heverling. “One of the things that people can count on us (KARK 4 News) for is being very hyper-local, and Matt takes that to the next level with his community involvement.”
KARK is also the only station in the market to put their Chief Meteorologist on the morning newscast. “We’re putting Mike Francis, our Chief Meteorologist, on in the morning because getting an accurate forecast in the morning is so important to people as they start the day,” Heverling said. “Mike will also be on the air anytime severe weather is threatening.”
KARK 4 News has also made some other changes to its on-air talent lineup.
KARK 4 News at 5:00 will now be anchored by Jancey Sheats and Melissa Simas with Bob Clausen contributing in-depth news pieces. KARK 4 News at 6:00 will be anchored by Bob Clausen and Jancey Sheats with Melissa Simas contributing to the show with in-depth stories.
Meteorologist Brett Cummins returns to the station to do the weather forecasts during KARK 4 News at 5, 6, 7, and 10.
KARK 4 News at 7:00 on KARZ (KARK’s sister station) will be anchored by Sonseeahray Tonsall and Brett Cummins.
The anchor team for KARK 4 News at 10:00 will be Bob Clausen and Melissa Simas.
KARK 4 News has also added an investigative unit featuring veteran reporter Dewayne Graham.
Nexstar Senior Vive President and KARK 4 General Manager Rick Rogala said, “It’s an exciting time to be at KARK 4. I love the enthusiasm this team has as we head into the fall. We’ve made a lot of positive changes lately, because in the end it all comes down to the viewers. We want them to be able to count on us to be their number one source of entertainment and information.”
