A herd of Republicans and one independent have already expressed intentions of challenging U.S. Sen. Blanche Lincoln in 2010.
Add a Green Party candidate.
His name is John Gray and he's the current mayor of Greenland (a bit more info on jump). He tells me he'll be on hand for organized labor's annual Labor Day picnic at the Governor's Mansion.
IN OTHER ELECTION NEWS: Former Rep. Jeremy Hutchinson is distributing his announcement of candidacy for term-limited Sen. Shane Broadway's seat. He'll announce Tuesday in Benton. Says it will be one of the most expensive Ark. legislative races ever.
FROM JOHN GRAY
A 1968 graduate of the University of Arkansas. Retired since 1997 after life in the automotive parts supply industry. Started with A.E.C. and spent since 1986 helping move production lines out of the U.S.A. to Mexico. Since retirement I have fought WTO, NAFTA, etc. in any way I could find. My activities now are centered on my desire to repair damage done to this country and to make life better in the future for my children and grandkids. I an 66 years old and do not consider myself a politician, though I am currently the Mayor of Greenland, AR.
