The Democrat-Gazette today rolled out its narrower newspaper, a reduction that will save tons of newsprint. The total cut is about the combined width of the broader newspaper’s margins. We’d heard about this a few days ago, but hadn’t gotten callbacks on our inquiries. I guess they wanted to roll this one out without an early announcement from us. News sections have been smaller of late, too. Along with circulation declines, indications are that daily newspapers haven’t hit bottom yet.
Odd: I can’t find a story in the D-G about the reduction in the size of the paper.
