More court proceedings today for Curtis Lavelle Vance, charged with killing KATV's Anne Pressly. Our news partners at Fox 16 will be on hand (presumably without a microphone in court) to keep us up to date. Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty. Vance apparently is still unhappy with his public defenders. He may be competent to stand trial in the legal sense, but it doesn't mean he's broken out with smarts.
The defense wanted more time to prepare for a capital case. Judge Chris Piazza today granted a delay until Nov. 2. he predicted the trial would take a week. Fox 16 reports also that Vance withdrew his request to continue as his own lawyer.
