This had to happen. Blogger Jason Tolbert made a request for some lottery commission records a few days back. Not having received them, he called the lottery office today (Saturday) for an update. Nobody there. Phone said they work 8:30-5 Mon-Fri. Just sayin’. He writes:

I thought part of the justification for the high lottery salaries was that the employees had to work every day until October 29 to get the lottery started.

PS — It is possible, of course, that people were at work Saturday, but not answering a central telephone number.
