Lottery Director Ernie Passailaigue has talked of selling lottery tickets by electronic kiosks. You could swipe a driver's license to establish proof of age and then plug in money for as many tickets as you wanted. The machine perhaps could make instant payouts, so you could fork the money right back over to the state.
That's an interesting idea. Likely controversial, I'd guess. Also interesting is that Ernie P. mentioned such kiosks as a potential way to get the games before the huge crowds in big box stores, such as Wal-Mart, without gumming up checkout lines.
