I got a tip today -- and confirmed it -- that I thought I'd save for the print edition of the Times and the Insider column, which goes on-line tomorrow afternoon.
Elsewhere on the web, I now see again the folly of sitting on news. David Kinkade reported a few minutes ago hearing on the street the story I can give you in detail.
Kane Webb, columnist, feature writer, etc., is departing the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette July 22 to teach English (and also a course in music history to plug a hole for principal Steve Straessle) at his alma mater, Catholic High School for Boys. He might pitch in on a journalism course as well.
Webb can be expected to continue to do some writing for free-lance publication after he settles in as Mr. Chips. The job of editing the Sunday Perspective section will become Sarah Prickett's -- or "Miss Sarah Prickett" as editorial page director Paul Greenberg referred to her in his e-mail to staff. She's been a copy editor in the editorial department.
