Here's the local newspaper coverage of Lu Hardin's selections as president of Palm Beach Atlantic University. It recounts his Arkansas controversies and -- as with coverage here -- doesn't offer much by way of comment on those controversies from officials of the private Christian university.
"Lu Hardin stood out because of his strong leadership and vision," said PBA trustee Chairman R. Marshall Jones. "He sees what Palm Beach Atlantic University can be."
Hardin said he heard about PBA several months ago from a colleague who thought he would be a good fit as president.
He has not had direct experience leading a Christian university, but said his goals include continuing PBA's religious mission, while also increasing fund-raising and enrollment at the 3,200-student school.
