Yes, it's true. Without advertising this blog most likely wouldn't exist. So we thank all the paying customers who surround us and, naturally, we encourage you to think kindly of them.
Today, we add a new feature to the advertising lineup.
I hope you've noticed a new small "button," or promotional box, on our website (currently just on the main home page, www.arktimes.com) that says "Arkanas Times coupons."
Click it and you'll be taken to pages of valuable coupons from local businesses. If one of them sounds good to you, you merely "clip" it, or print it for use at the business of your choice. We hope you'll find it useful. $10 off a dinner for two, a 15 percent wine discount, 25 percent off drycleaning, free grill accessories with a grill purchase, $2 off dinnner theater tickets, to name a few -- they sound useful to me. But I am, of course, biased.

LITTLE ROCK, AR—Analog Analytics and the Arkansas Times announced a new partnership today aimed at helping local businesses expand their online revenues. Using innovative technology that makes web coupons easy for news sites to host—and even easier for customers to virtually “clip” with their printers, phones, and other devices—Analog hopes to bring new levels of profitability and exposure to the Times and Little Rock-area merchants.
The partnership is the latest in a string of successful ventures for the company, which has already convinced other local news sites nationwide to implement its unique online coupon services.
“For the most part, local papers are in the same bind as larger national papers—they’ve created websites with tons of great content, but they need to better promote the sites’ advertising potential to local businesses,” said Kenneth Kalb, Analog’s CEO. “So we’ve created an entirely new revenue stream publishers and advertisers can tap into, one that will attract anyone who uses the newspaper’s site because it offers something valuable.”
The partnership with the Times is groundbreaking because it gives area businesses a potentially huge local web audience that they would not otherwise be able to reach. Together, Kalb and Times publisher Alan Leveritt hope to help local businesses tap into the growing number of consumers hungry for money-saving deals in an uncertain economic climate.
The evidence for this large new audience is more than anecdotal. According to industry monitor Inmar Inc., online coupon use grew by 140% last year alone for larger manufacturers. Given the new Analog/Times partnership, local advertisers now have ample reason to believe that they can achieve similar revenue growth in central Arkansas.
