It didn’t sound good from the start. TMZ, the celebrity-watching website, had the jump on the story. Then. LA Times reported that paramedics who responded to a call to the singer’s home found him not breathing.

Paramedics performed CPR and took him to the UCLA Medical Center.

At 5:20 p.m., CNN reported he was in a coma.

At 5:30, a report from the LA Times naming anonymous sources, said Jackson had been pronounced dead.

It’s now everywhere. Hard to believe.
