I'm sure savvy blog readers are way ahead of me on this. But Nick Kristof's column today fascinated me. It's about software developed to allow undetectable Internet communication -- Twitter has been a notable outlet -- in oppressive regimes such as China and Iran.

There's pending legislation that could help, a so-called Internet freedom initiative that would include money to encourage development of such liberating technology. He calls on the president to get behind it.
