Big ball in cowtown

Since there's something of an Arkie angle, I thought you might be interested in some coverage of the star-studded country music concert that marked the opening of the Dallas Cowboys' new stadium over the weekend. Jimmy Johnson joined Cowboy owner Jerry Jones in his private box. Somehow, the Ark. Times' invitation got lost in the mail.

It cost $1.5 billion. Stadium parking is $40. A Coke costs $6. U2 is coming in October, a likelier winner than the Cowboys, one bitter blogger wrote. From the Star-Telegram:

Never one to shy away from crowds, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones signed autographs before the show started from his owners' box on the 50-yard-line. Among his guests was Texas Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison, a likely gubernatorial candidate in 2010. Gov. Rick Perry was also apparently in attendance; he posted a photo from Blake Shelton's performance on his Twitter account, @governorperry/

CBS affiliate gave it a rave.
