The investigation was in its preliminary stages, authorities said, and was based on the suspect’s travel to Yemen and his arrest there for using a Somali passport.

… But, Muhammad’s travels overseas have sparked a major international investigation. Officials say it is too early to know for certain if he indeed acted alone.

Here’s a link to most of the paperwork filed in Municipal Court to support the search warrant of the home of Abdulhakim Muhammad.

From the affidavit filed, with District Judge Alice Lightle:

“Mr. Muhammad waived his rights and admitted to shooting the subjects at 9112 N. Rodney Parham and advised that his intent was to kill as many people in the Army as he could. Mr. Muhammad also advised detectives that in his vehicle were three firearms, ammunition and Molotov cocktails. During this interview, he also stated that he recently viewed a video pertaining to subversive activities which spurred him to commit this act.”

While police have stated they didn’t find any explosives in Muhammad’s car, they did find a dozen boxes of ammunition, a .22 rifle fitted with a laser scope, and two homemade silencers.
