No parking

The Little Rock Parks Commission met again today on  a policy for acquisition and disposition of park land. But it didn't quite finish the job. It will meet again next week to consider some small changes. For one thing, acquisition will be uncoupled from disposition and become subject of a separate policy. The disposition policy will allow sale of park land, under certain parameters, but also provide that any proceeds be reinvested in parks.

In theory, the City Board's decision on whether to let UAMS or the Zoo take land that had been used for the Ray Winder minor league baseball park, now defunct, won't be made until the parks policy is completed.

Buzz continues about a potential compromise deal on Ray Winder, but, for now, that just appears to be talk. What kind of talk? Letting the zoo move east across a parking lot to the street that passes Ray Winder. But this would cut into War Memorial Stadium parking.
