The Arkansas blog got a call from someone today asking if we’d been keeping up with Gene Cauley, the Little Rock lawyer and former Home Banc Shares board member. Not like Arkansas Business has, which just updated its story from last week that Cauley’s being investigated by federal prosecutors for not being able to come up with $9.3 million belonging to his clients.

Gerard Matthews blogged an interesting report last year on Cauley’s input at the UCA summit on the Fayetteville shale. He invoked the Almighty, saying it wasn’t a sin to be rich. And he said it was no coincidence the Shale play was centered in Jerusalem, Ark. Wow, we said then. And now.
