The Republicans and their journalistic enablers are raising heck about a Democratic plan to use a rule loophole to pass a health care plan in the Senate by a majority vote. Reagan, Bush and Clinton all used the loophole as needs demanded.
It's as simple as Brummett puts it. If the Democratic Congress can produce a meaningful leap forward in health care coverage in the last western country that doesn't provide universal care, most voters won't object that a simple majority ruled.
