Seth Blomeley reported extensively in the Democrat-Gazette this morning on the $10 million apparently heading from the legislative pork barrel bill to construction of a Conway interchange that will benefit the new Hewelett-Packard facility. You may recall I briefly mentioned this appropriation yesterday, along with House Speaker Robbie Wills' comment on it.
Speaker Wills has more to say on the subject here. Shazam, he says. If that little ol' $10 million appropriation should happen to wind up in Conway through the wisdom of the independent Arkansas Highway Commission, he'd of course just be tickled pink. Call me crazy, but I kind of had a feeling that would happen yesterday, even before Highway Commissioner Cliff Hoofman told the D-G it was a done deal.
Brummett offers commentary. He's amused by the former Senate insurgents now kingpins playing the same hide-the-salami game they once decried.
