LRPD today announced arrest of a suspect in a lengthy string of car burglaries, muggings and till tappings.

One guy can do a lot of damage. This suspect apparently targeted convenience stores, churches (Oak Forest and Pulaski Heights Methodist) and grocery parking lots in Hillcrest and beyond.

On 3-27-09, at approximately 1245 hours, officers responded to 2611 W. 7th in reference to an auto breaking and entering and made contact with Brad Murphy.  Murphy advised that upon returning to the business, he observed a black male with his head in the window of his vehicle.  He approached the vehicle and the suspect fled to a red vehicle with Arkansas license.  Murphy stated that he had to jump out of the way to avoid being struck by the vehicle.  Detectives developed Chris Dismuke as the suspect and warrants were obtained for Aggravated Assault and Auto B&E in this incident. 
 
On 3-29-09, at approximately 1326 hours, officers responded to a theft at 10th and Fair Park and made contact with Shannon Giger.  Giger advised that while at the gas pump, a black male took her purse from her vehicle and fled the area. 
 
On 4-3-09, at approximately 1326 hours, officers responded to a breaking and entering at 5720 W. Markham and made contact with Shan Stallings.  Stallings advised that he discovered a black male inside his vehicle removing his stereo.  The suspect fled the area in a red vehicle with Arkansas license.
 
On 4-5-09, at approximately 1425 hours, officers responded to a theft at Oak Forest Methodist Church and made contact with Lola Fish.  Fish advised that a black male entered her Sunday school class and pushed her into a table and then took her purse and left the area in a red vehicle with Arkansas license. 
 
On 4-5-09, at approximately 1020 hours, officers responded to a theft at F and Monroe Streets near Pulaski Height Methoidst Church and made contact with Mary Cantwell.  Cantwell stated that while she was walking to her vehicle, a black male ran up behind her and knocked her to the ground.  The suspect then took her purse and fled towards a teal colored vehicle with Arkansas license.
 
On 4-13-09, at approximately 1752 hours, officers responded to a suspicious person call at 614  Beechwood and made contact with Lela Morgan.  Morgan advised that while walking to her vehicle on the Kroger parking lot, a black male ran up to her and grabbed her purse off her shoulder, knocking her to the ground.  The suspect then fled the area in a black Ford vehicle.    
 
On 4-15-09, at approximately 1510 hours, officers responded to a car jacking at Valero located at 925 Fair Park and made contact with Jeanette Neece.  Neece advised that while she was pumping gas in her silver 2004 GMC Yukon with Arkansas license, a black male pushed her out of the way and fled the area in her vehicle. 
 
On 4-15-09, officers responded to a robbery just occurred call at EZ Mart located at 1624 S. University and made contact with the clerk who advised that a black male entered the business and asked for change.  The clerk advised him he could not give change without a purchase and the subject grabbed a pack of gum.  When the clerk opened the register, the suspect attempted to grab the cash, but the manager pushed him away.  The suspect then swung his fist at the clerk, but missed him.  He then fled the business in a gold colored Yukon.  Nothing was taken in the incident.
 
On 4-15-09, at approximately 1530 hours, officers responded to the robbery of an individual at the Shell Station located at 3200 S. University and made contact with Jeff Canady who advised that while he was waiting in line at the register, a black male attempted to grab a twenty dollar bill from his hand.  Canady and the suspect began to struggle and the suspect bit him on the hand before fleeing the area in a gold colored SUV.
 
On 4-15-09, at approximately 1700 hours, officers responded to a robbery just occurred call at Double B’s Exxon located at 2402 Cantrell and made contact with the clerk who advised that a black male entered the store asking for change.  When the clerk opened the cash drawer, the suspect grabbed the money and fled the store in a silver Yukon with Arkansas license.
 
Chris Dismuke was developed as a suspect in these incidents and warrants were on file for his arrest. On 4-15-09, officers located the stolen Yukon at Wright Avenue and Dennison and when they attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver fled to the area of 24th and Howard where he exited the vehicle and fled on foot.  A K-9 unit responded to the scene and located the driver, Chris Dismuke, hiding under the house at 2411 S. Park.  Dismuke was arrested and transported to the Downtown Detective Division where he was then served with warrants for Robbery, Auto B&E, and Aggravated Assault.  Dismuke is the person responsible for all the above incidents.  He was also charged with five additional counts of Robbery, one felony count Breaking and Entering, one felony count Theft of Property, one misdemeanor count Theft of Property and one count Fleeing.  Dismuke was then transported to the Pulaski County Regional Jail Northside.
