Money to preserve history

I just got word of a historical effort of interest. The National Park Service has a $1 million grant program to preserve and interpretthe sites of World War II internment camps for American citizens of Japanese descent. Arkansas had two, at Jerome and Rohwer in Southeast Arkansas.

People interested in the grant program are invited to a National Park Service meeting at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Little Rock Central High School National Historic Site Visitor Center, 2121 Daisy Gatson Bates Drive. The state will be in the interested in the opportunity, I'd guess.
