So now we know that Gov. Mike Beebe allowed a self-storage warehouse tax break to pass this session because he was delivering on a four-year-old campaign promise. (I guess we should be glad he didn't promise more.)
So which real estate daddy carried so much clout that Beebe felt honor bound to deliver? How much money did the Big Daddy deliver to the Beebe campaign? I know an old-time real estate industry lobbyist entered the fray to jam this little goody through at a time the state could ill afford it (and nobody's demonstrated a discernible justification for the tax break, like a crisis in the self-storage business.)
