So expensive that somebody stole a church van and used it twice early yesterday to bust open doors — at the Exxon convenience store at Markham and Van Burean and Popatop Liquor at 19th and University — to steal some.

The thief got eight cartons of smokes at the Exxon, only a couple of packs of Virginia Slims at Popatop. The high-dollar Bordeaux in the temperature-controlled wine room apparently held no interest. The perp was filmed on liquor store surveillance video. No arrests so far.
