Walter Hussman's newspaper in Chattanooga also is feeling the layoff pain. I haven't confirmed, but I think casualties include at least one old Arkansas Democrat-Gazette hand who made the move to Chattanooga after Hussman bought the paper.
NOTED: Several readers are noting receipt of letters from the D-G about an increase from $12 to $15 in the monthly cost of home delivery. Wow. That's a 25 percent price increase. Worth, over 100,000 subscribers, $3.6 million a year. Please note that newsprint prices are not rising this year. They're declining on account of a drop in demand from withering newpsapers.
