The Democrat-Gazette got around today to a subject that North Little Rock bloggers have been harping about for months -- Mayor Pat Hays' disdain for an open process for selecting members of city boards and commissions. He'll do it, thank you. (When he gets around to it. Many terms expire without prompt reappointments.)
Credit Hays for candor: He says he's of no mind to open the process to any but his hand-picked people. Remember the George Fisher cartoon where everybody in the legislature looked like Orval Faubus? It's getting that way over in NLR, heading toward a quarter-century of the commodore's iron-fisted rule. Voters seem to like it.
