We reported last October about "Project Arrow," a project to find a new home for the  National Boy Scout Jamboree. Some 5,000 acres of Weyerhaeuser timberland in Saline County was the hoped-for site in Arkansas. It would have been a potential site for a World Scout Jamboree, in addition to drawing 100,000 Scouts annually.

The news today is that Arkansas, though it was in the final mix of three sites, has lost out to sites in Virginia and West Virginia. Those two states apparently will split Scout missions envisioned by the organization.
