An employee of a Stephens Media newspaper tells me that the company has notified employees that it is "temporarily" suspending company contributions to their 401K retirement plans. In a show of solidarity, Sherm Frederick, Las Vegas-based chief executive of the media group owned by Little Rock's Stephens family, has told employees he'll forego a pay raise this year.
Whoops. Now I see Arkansas Business has a copy of the memo. I'd been hoping to hear back from Frederick.
