Utilities briefed legislators and executive agencies today. Bad, in case you didn't know. The Electric Co-op reports it has 7,000 poles down, far more than were downed in the cataclysmic ice storm of 2000.

Due to intermittent power failure on campus, effective at 1 p.m. today,
Arkansas State University will close until Monday, February 2. In order
to accommodate students living on campus, the Student Union and Dining
Hall will remain open.
The Payroll Office in the Administration Building will open Friday,
January 30, from 8-11 a.m. in the lobby to provide checks to employees
not on direct deposit.
Also, the Convocation Center will remain open as a community shelter.
