Washington Post notes that Sarah Palin has joined Mike Huckabee and Mitt Romney in forming a PAC as a vehicle to help a run for president in 2012. These PACs nominally are to help candidates elsewhere, but particularly in important primary states. Right.

I checked the most recent Huck PAC filing the other day. It showed he’d raised almost $350,000 in 2008 and spent just over $35,000, or not much more than 10 percent, on contributions to other candidates and committees. You’ll mostly find spending for his gallivanting and political operation. And if you dig deeply into the FEC records, you’ll also see he ran into a little reporting problem on the way some $15,000 in expenses were reported (without itemization) for travel by his daughter-in-law, Lauren. Just one of those little Huckster oopsies.

AND SPEAKING OF HUCK: His campaign manager in 2008, Chip Saltsman, got some national TV airtime today to advance his campaign for Republican national chairman. Talk about an oopsie. Contessa Brewer of MSNBC lambasted him for sending around that “Barack the Magic Negro” CD and then trying to blame fallout on the media. He’s still whining about the media.
