Above is taken (with original headline pasted on by me) from a Vanity Fair slide show of its illustrators' takes on the Bush administration.

For once, agreement with Maureen Dowd:

Right now, though, it’s a huge relief to be getting an inquisitive, complicated mind in the White House.

W. decided there was no need to be president of the whole country. He could just be president of his base. Obama is determined to be president of as much of the country as possible.

We’re trading a dogmatic president for one who’s shopping for a dog. It feels good.

Joe Galloway of McClatchy is better because, unlike Dowd, he's been right all along:

He's leaving the same way he arrived eight years ago: Clueless and somehow unable to discern up from down, right from left and right from wrong.

Also, from the mountain of inauguration coverage, this feature: Arkies were in. Texans were in. Now, the Washington Post posits, being black is "in" on the D.C. social circuit.

And speaking of when Arkies were in: Blake Rutherford is in Washington for the inauguration. He's blogging like mad at Blake's Think Tank. Second item from top currently is an interview with that little Greek guy who hung around LR a lot in 1992, George something or other.

Finally, yes, please. Inauguration attendees with cell phones, Blackberries, etc., send me stuff at max@arktimes.com Arkie angles always high priority.
