Court news is that the ACLU, for now, isn't seeking a temporary order to delay implementation of Act 1 because no one has immediately been affected. But read carefully. Inevitably, real people will be affected. The law will not allow the state to recommend custody or guardianships for homes with unmarried couples, such as the grandmother currently seeking to adopt her grandchild to keep the abused child with a family member, rather than in foster care.
We also don't know how many people have already been discouraged from applying to be foster parents or to seek adoption because of this new anti-child law.
