The UCA presidential search committee
met for the first time today. According to a press release, the meeting was called to finalize language to use in an advertisement for the position. Jack Gillean
, Vice President for Administration at UCA, said the committee decided to hold off on the final wording of the ad in order to consult their various constituencies. The search committee consists of student, faculty, staff, administration, community and board representatives. Gillean said the committe did not have a hard and fast timeline for the search but they do hope to have a recommendation for the job by this summer, and approval of that recommendation by the end of the summer. He was quick to point out, however, that they did not want to "sacrifice quality for speed." That's probably a good call. UCA doesn't need any more trouble.
