The state Supreme Court ruled today on the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette’s unusual direct appeal of District Judge Lee Munson’s orders sealing county jail records pertaining to Curtis Vance, accused of Anne Pressly’s murder.
No luck for the newspaper. The Supreme Court said the newspaper should take its case first to Circuit Court, which was what opposing attorneys had argued.

It is possible — presuming the police act soon on sending a complete file to Prosecutor Larry Jegley — that this whole ball of wax about gag orders and other rulings intended to hold down pre-trial publicity could start afresh on filing of charges in Circuit Court.
