Mike Huckabee gets a lot of mileage with his base — as Bill O’Reilly, etc. do — with the false Christian persecution complex. Look around you in Arkansas. Do you think you’d be more likely to be persecuted in any city you name for being a) Baptist b) Muslim c) Jew or d) atheist? (In some quarters, proclaiming Mormon or Catholic leanings might even be a little risky.) What Huck really wants is an end of even criticism in response to anyone waving a Christian banner over their actions.
