If keeping construction workers employed was the sole determinant for allowing construction work to continue on SWEPCO’s poison-creator in Hempstead County, why have an environmental regulatory agency at all?
Yesterday’s message: If a power company promises to create jobs, it should be allowed to build whatever it wishes — no matter the cost to ratepayers or the environment. I’m sure the bullying Tom Schueck, who on account of being a pollution permit holder himself shouldn’t even vote when such matters are before the so-called Pollution Control and Ecology Commission, would agree.
Heres’ the bottom line: Beebe-era regulatory agencies simply will not get in the way coal-burning, electric power companies or jobs, not with an election around the corner in 2010. Let the next generation worry about our profligacy.
