John Brummett wrote the other day about the new media, including the KATV feature in which reporter Kristin Fisher takes votes among readers about stories to cover and takes readers along on the coverage via cellphone. You can, in fact, catch her at work on a live newsroom camera right this minute.
Fisher talks about her stories after they appear on-air and fields questions from viewers on the live webcam. Because I blog, and because I have added Twitter news updates to the Times', er, platform, Fisher has invited me to join her on the web this evening. Hit the link above about 6:15 for Fisher and a face made for radio.
UPDATE: Slick. We have to figure out how to do this sooner rather than later. You just put up a little camera, turn it on and, presto, whoever is in front of the cam is live on the web. The small camera promotes more informal discussion, I think, and the big computer monitor flashes incoming e-mail. (Thanks for all who contributed.) Food for thought for sure. I have seen the future and it's already past before I can grab it.
