I ragged the Democrat-Gazette earlier, as did one of our editorials this week, for failing to cover the Little Rock event in a national protest of discrimination against gay people. So duly note: The D-G has an article on the final page of the B section today on the 300 who turned out yesterday on a frigid afternon for a march and Capitol protest against Act 1. No photo of the assembly. No 1B play. That's reserved (annually) for David O. Dodd, Confederate memorial day and other observances with Confederate flags, "Dixie" etc. But still, it's an improvement.
I was there, by the way. And moved. The hopeful thing was this. The crowd was predominantly young people. They are the future. Not the disproportionate elderly vote that powered Nov. 4 results.
