I”ve been out. The e-mail has been pouring in.

One, from a Republican of long acquaintance who adds a countervailing voice to our comments regularly, tells me that Dennis “What We Need is Another 9/11” Milligan, resigned today as chairman of the Arkansas Republican Party. Heck, the Repubs had a decent year in Arkansas.

UPDATE: My original correspondent — also David Kinkade at The Arkansas Project — now say Milligan hasn’t resigned. He’s just served notice that he won’t seek another term as chair.

I’m also informed that state Rep. Steve Harrelson was re-elected yesterday as leader of the Democratic caucus and that Rep. Kathy Webb of LR was elected vice chair in a contested race.

Also, Andrew DeMillo writes about the somewhat rockier second legislative session ahead for Gov. Mike Beebe.
